FAQ

Renting a Storage Unit

What do I need to rent a storage unit?
Bring valid government-issued photo identification, current contact information and an approved method of payment. You will also need a suitable lock for your unit. You may bring your own or purchase one from Titanium Storage.

Do I need to sign a long-term lease?
No. Titanium Storage rentals are month-to-month, with a minimum rental period of one month. After that, you can continue renting for as long as you need, subject to the rental agreement.

Can I reserve a storage unit in advance?
Yes. Reservations can be made up to one week before your planned move-in date, subject to availability.

Can I see a unit before I rent it?
Yes, when an appropriate unit is available to view. Our team can help you compare sizes and choose the best fit before you move in.

How do I choose the right size?
Tell us what you are storing — for example, the number of rooms, large furniture pieces, boxes or seasonal items — and our team can help you narrow down the best unit size. You can also use our Storage Size Guide.

What if the size I want is not available?
Availability changes regularly. We can help you choose the closest available size or discuss other options.

Payments & Billing

When is my rent due?
Monthly rent is due on or before the first day of each month, unless your rental agreement states otherwise for the initial rental period.

Can I set up automatic payments?
Yes. Automatic payments are available by credit card or ACH (Direct bank account payment). Titanium Storage does not use debit-card withdrawals for autopay.

What payment methods do you accept?
For automatic payments, we accept credit card or ACH. In the office, customers may pay by credit card, debit card, cash or cheque.

Is there a minimum rental period?
Yes. The minimum rental period is one month.

Do you prorate my final month when I move out?
Yes, if your move-out is completed on or before the 7th of the month. Your final rent can be prorated to your move-out date. If you move out after the 7th, the full month's rent is due.

Are there late fees?
Yes. Late fees and other account charges may apply when rent is overdue. Please refer to your current rental agreement or contact the office for the current fee schedule.

Access

When can I access my storage unit?
Titanium Storage customers have 24-hour access, seven days a week (may be subject to manager discretion).

How do I access the property?
Each customer is provided with an access card for facility gate entry. Keep your access card secure and do not lend it to anyone who is not authorized to access your unit.

Can I access my unit when the office is closed?
Yes. Your access card provides 24-hour facility access, even when the rental office is closed.

What happens if I lose my access card?
Contact Titanium Storage as soon as possible so the lost card can be deactivated and a replacement can be arranged.

Can someone else access my unit?
Access should be limited to you and people you authorize. If another person regularly needs access, contact the office so the account information can be kept current.

Locks

Do I need my own lock?
Yes. Customers are responsible for securing their unit with a suitable lock.

Can I bring my own lock?
Yes. You may bring your own suitable storage lock or purchase one from Titanium Storage.

Does Titanium Storage keep a spare key to my lock?
No. Your unit is secured with your own lock. Customers should not assume Titanium Storage has a spare key. If you lose your key or cannot open your lock, contact the office before attempting to remove it.

What if my lock needs to be cut off?
Contact the office first. We will go over the lock-removal procedure.

Insurance & Your Property

Does Titanium Storage insure the belongings in my unit?
No. Your stored belongings remain your responsibility. Titanium Storage does not provide insurance coverage for loss or damage to your personal property. Customers should maintain appropriate insurance coverage for their belongings.
